June 1st at 1:00 p.m. is the deadline for submissions to St. Jerome’s University (SJU)'s Betty G. Headley Senior Essay Award. The annual competition, which was established in memory of the mother of SJU graduate Sara Elizabeth “Sally” Headley (BA ’04), recognizes essays that are distinguished by their eloquence, originality, and persuasive power. Essays written for a third- or fourth-year course taught at SJU, or the University of Waterloo or one of its affiliated institutions, or personal essays on any topic, may be submitted for review by a Selection Committee. Entries selected as the winners will be awarded financial prizes and featured on SJU's website.
