Canadian Social Teaching: An Innovative Tradition

Canadian Catholic Social Teaching is solidly based in the Church’s best kept secret – its enlightened and prophetic teaching on social justice. The Canadian Church, from "base Communities" to bishops, has been particularly innovative in its attempts to apply that teaching to an increasingly confused, secularized and often irreligious society. If the gospel of Jesus is to have any impact at all on our severly shaken Canadian mosaic, that innovative spirit needs to be nurtured and supported.
