Sounding the Sacred: Reflections on Sound and Spirit

For CBC Radio listeners Tim Wilson has presented "church" music as varied as the rituals of Tibetan Buddhism to to a Kyrie sung by a tundra wolf, in the celebration of the Winter Solstice at New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine. In a feature on the healing power of the voice and ear, he presented the extraordinary sounds we each hear in the womb, four and a half months before birth. He has been much taken with the spirituality of the emerging men’s movement, and has practised "night work" - Traditional chants that give voice to men’s grief and joy.
