Sounding the Sacred: Reflections on Sound and Spirit

For CBC Radio listeners Tim Wilson has presented "church" music as varied as the rituals of Tibetan Buddhism to to a Kyrie sung by a tundra wolf, in the celebration of the Winter Solstice at New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine. In a feature on the healing power of the voice and ear, he presented the extraordinary sounds we each hear in the womb, four and a half months before birth. He has been much taken with the spirituality of the emerging men’s movement, and has practised "night work" - Traditional chants that give voice to men’s grief and joy. In the "sounding" Tim presents at the St. Jerome’s Centre, he will invite you to listen to all of the above.
