Monika K. Hellwig, LL.B., Ph.D.
Dr. Monika K. Hellwig is a much sought-after speaker and it is a real privilege to have her come to St. Jerome's. She has written and lectured extensively in Canada, the United States, and throughout the world both in popular and scholarly contexts. She is currently the Executive Director of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities and was formerly the Landegger Professor of Theology at Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.) where she taught for three decades. Widely recognized as an insightful and clear-thinking theologian, Dr. Hellwig has served as past president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. Among the twenty or so books she has authored or edited are: Understanding Catholicism, Jesus the Compassion of God, The Eucharist and the Hunger of the World, and Sign of Reconciliation and Conversion.
