In the work world of specialized skills and knowledge, faith is often privatized to the point that it is 'not allowed' to play any role. Especially in professional duties, most Catholics find themselves working in a system that fails to pay attention to the faith commitment of its workers. At the same time, there is a new emphasis on the importance of ethical reflection in both private and public life. Can Catholics remain faithful to their ethics in a pluralistic work world? Fr. Mark Miller, C.SS.R., Ph.D.
A challenging and dynamic speaker, Fr. Mark Miller, C.Ss.R. is the author of Making Moral Choices. He has also participated in the production of a number of videos on ethics for the Adult Learning Centre of the Archdiocese of Edmonton. He is director of the Redemptorist Bioethics Consultancy. He works as a bioethicist in Saskatoon and Calgary. Fr. Miller is a board member of both the Catholic Health Association of Alberta and Affiliates and the Catholic Health Association of Saskatchewan. He is frequently asked to present workshops on a variety of moral issues for Catholic teachers and other educators, lay formation programs, and health care personnel.
